Civil litigators in British Columbia can now take advantage of the efficiency and accuracy of document automation with ACL5, Canada’s leading document assembly software, which now includes BC court forms in its expanded library.
Toronto – March 16, 2018 – Korbitec, the leading provider of document assembly solutions for Canadian civil litigators, has expanded its document assembly solution to enable law firms in British Columbia (BC) to produce court forms and letters more efficiently and with less risk.
For many BC law firms, the process today for completing forms is manual and time-consuming. Many court forms, for example, are generated as PDF documents, and filled out individually. Yet buyers of legal services are becoming more sophisticated, and less willing to pay for inefficient processes that translate into higher fees.
“Document automation software reduces the cost of producing court documents and letters, enabling greater price flexibility at a time when alternative billing arrangements are growing in popularity,” said Bass.
Manual processes can also be more vulnerable to errors. Copying and pasting from prior documents, for example, provides a quick start, but introduces the possibility of errors when required edits are overlooked, grammar is not corrected for the new matter, or important portions of the text are omitted.
“Document generation is a mission critical activity for law firms,” said Alan Bass, President of Korbitec, “and lawyers would like to do it more efficiently so they can spend more time on high-value advisory work and client representation.”
Korbitec’s ACL5 streamlines document creation with a library of over 2,500 court forms, letters, and legal documents used in litigation. The library is continually updated as rules change. Korbitec will also customize ACL to include a firm’s own content. The system ensures a consistent look and feel across all documents generated by a firm, and Korbitec provides free training and support for a quick start and efficient ongoing use of the software. ACL5 also includes Task Manager, a tickler system that prompts for action at critical milestones.
ACL has been the de facto standard solution for legal document assembly in Ontario and Alberta, with over 400 firms using ACL to produce court forms and correspondence. In conjunction with its entry into the BC market, Korbitec has expanded its library to include Supreme Court of BC forms for civil litigation and Provincial Court Small Claims forms.
“Several national law firms are already using our system,” said Bass. “Now, their BC offices and local BC firms will be able to tap into ACL5’s time-saving and accuracy benefits.”
